HQ/Executive Board Update We’d like to thank those members who have contacted us after reading this page on our website—we’re glad to hear you’re enjoying this communique from your team at HQ/Executive Board. This has been an exciting week; for two days, Friday & Saturday (12/15 & 12/16), your board members gathered at headquarters in beautiful downtown Danville, Vermont, to work our way through a grueling agenda. Lunches for both days were provided by the Danville chapter; thank you very much to members Tom & Sandi Ruelke and Pam Johnson for the incredible food and TLC they administered. However, you’ll get more about the trustees’ meeting next time. Right now we have things to share about Sugarbush and convention ‘07! There was another meeting at Sugarbush resort a week or two ago with members of the Convention Committee, HQ and the Executive Board. We met with Jean Wry, our contact there, and had a tour of the new facilities. Very impressive! Wonderful setting, wonderful buildings; we are getting more and more excited by all the momentum building up for our next convention. A few things to think about when you’re planning your trip to convention: do you have a time share? If so, this could be a good time to use it, because there are a lot of time shares in the Mad River Valley. One NH chapter we know about has rented seven of the nine available rooms at one of the area’s little inns. Think about getting a group of your friends or fellow chapter members and do that. We will soon have at our fingertips (and yours) a list of all the local establishments that rent rooms, and we’ve been told that special pricing will probably be available to us. And, for you pilots out there, the town of Warren has their own little airport. So you can think about flying in. Your team is meeting with the Mad River Valley chamber of commerce to discuss such things, so we’ll pass on anything we find out. Remember to go to http://www.madrivervalley.com, which is the chamber’s website. You can request a welcome packet from them, which will provide you with lots of information. Important to remember: If you go to the Sugarbush website, the prices shown there do not include the ASD discount we have negotiated. To register for any Sugarbush lodging, you must register by phone to get the ASD discount. There is an additional 5% discount on stays of five nights or more.
Best wishes to all for a great holiday season. |
