WATER FOR HUMANITY - ADOPT -a- WELL PROGRAM

Dear ASD Chapters and Members, and WFH Friends:

The Water for Humanity Fund “ADOPT -a- WELL” program was set up to allow ASD chapters, individual members, businesses & corporations, church & civic groups, and interested parties among the general public an option to designate their contribution to a specific organization in a specific area or country for a specific individual well project funded in its entirety. The list below names all the organizations which have submitted proposals which are currently on the table. Included in each listing is the date a proposal was received, whether the organization requested guidelines up front in preparing the proposal (solicited) or not (unsolicited), past history with the organization, the amount requested and the amount per well. We of the WFH Committee invite you to examine the list, dowse it if you are a dowser or dowsing group, and intuit or decide which project you are drawn to. ASSOCIATION OF POOR PEOPLE’S EDUCATION AND HEALTH DEVELOPMENT SERVICE (APPEHDS)   -   This organization was sanctioned by Brother James Kimpton while he was acting as an agent for us. Their first proposal submitted came unsolicited in 2001, requesting $1,950 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages. WFH provided a partial grant of $1,500 in 2003. They demonstrated they could conduct and complete a project in good faith and they submitted a final completion report. ASD Member and WFH friend Stephanie Rothenberg visited them on behalf of WFH and was treated very cordially. Their second proposal (solicited) was received in July of 2006 requesting $3,703 for seven bore wells and hand pumps ($529/well).

VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT CENTER   -   The first proposal (solicited) was received from this organization (sanctioned by agent Brother Kimpton) in 2003 requesting $4,436 for one bore well and hand pump in each of six villages. The WFH Committee awarded a partial grant the same year $1,800, and supplemented with an additional $680 the next year. They demonstrated they could conduct and complete a project in good faith and they submitted a final completion report. A second solicited proposal was submitted in June of 2006 requested $5,030 for one bore well and hand pump for each of six villages ($838/well). They were awarded a partial grant in November of 2007 of $1,676 for two of the six wells. The remaining four wells await funding.

RURAL PEOPLE’S DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (RPDS)   -   The first proposal received from this organization, sanctioned by Brother Kimpton, in 2003, was solicited and requested $4,610 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven villages. They were awarded a partial grant of $1,1800 in October the same year. They demonstrated they could conduct and complete a project in good faith and they submitted a final completion report. Their second solicited proposal, received in November of 2007, requested $4,763 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($953/well).

ASSOCIATION FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT (ARD)   -   This organization was sanctioned by Brother Kimpton and submitted their first solicited proposal in 2003 requesting $3,183 for five bore wells and hand pumps in seven villages ($637/well). A partial grant was awarded by the WFH Committee in 2006 of $1,274 for two wells. They demonstrated they could conduct and complete a project in good faith and they submitted a final completion report.

SOCIETY FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (SCDP)   -   The first solicited proposal from this organization had not received funding when the second arrived in August of 2006, requesting $2,504 for one bore well and hand pump in each of four villages ($626/well).

Community Action for Rural Development (CARD)   -   After their first unsolicited proposal was received in 2003, this organization was endorsed by Brother Kimpton. This proposal had not yet received funding when their second, solicited, proposal was received in August of 2006 requesting $1,100 for one bore well and hand pump for a school for orphaned and handicapped children.

MITHRA   -   This organization was endorsed by Brother Kimpton after the first unsolicited proposal was received by them in January of 2004, requesting $2,800 for one bore well and hand pump in each of four villages. The WFH Committee awarded a partial grant of $1,000 in June of that year. They demonstrated they could conduct and complete a project in good faith and they submitted a final completion report. A later solicited proposal was received in December of 2005 requesting $1,055 for five wells in tsunami-affected villages ($211/well). They were awarded a partial grant of $420 for two wells in June of 2006, and they properly submitted a project completion report. Three wells remain to be funded.

HEALTH EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (HEADS)   -   An earlier unsolicited proposal went unfunded, then a solicited proposal came in October of 2006 requesting $1,015 for a single bore well and hand pump.

CENTRE FOR RESEARCH AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (CRHD)   -   A solicited proposal was received in August of 2006 requesting $4,220 for one bore well and hand pump in each of six villages ($703/well).

ASSOCIATION OF WELFARE ACTVITIES AND RURAL EDUCATION (AWARE)   -   The first proposal from this organization came unsolicited but was never funded before a second solicited proposal was received in September of 2006 requesting $3,152 for one bore well and hand pump in each of two villages and one bore well with submersible electric pump, tank and platform for each of two tsunami-affected villages ($788/well).

PARKKAVAN TRUST   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in September of 2006 requesting $4,759 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($952/well).

VILLAGE PEOPLE’S EDUCATION FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (VEPERDA)   -   The first proposal from this organization came unsolicited but was never funded before a second solicited proposal was received in January of 2006 requesting $4,835 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven villages ($690/well).

RURAL ORGANIZATION FOR SOCIAL EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT (ROSED)   -   An unsolicited proposal received in June of 2006 requested $3,552 for one bore well and hand pump in each of three villages ($1,185/well).

RURAL EDUCATIONL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (REEDS)   -   An unsolicited proposal received in September of 2005 requested $3,552 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven villages ($690/well). In May of 2006 a partial grant of $1,980 was awarded for three wells. They demonstrated they could conduct and complete a project in good faith and they submitted a final completion report. Four wells await funding.

JAWAHAR RURAL PEOPLE’S DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (JRPDO)   -   An unsolicited proposal received in September of 2006 requested $3,622 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($724/well).

SOCIETY FOR EDUCATION, RESEARCH & VILLAGE EMPOWERMENT (SERVE)   -   The first proposal received from this organization in March of 2006 came unsolicited requesting $4,595 for one bore well and hand pump in each of six villages ($765/well). Then another proposal was received, this time solicited requesting $3,795 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($795/well).

HUMAN MIRROR TRUST   -   A solicited proposal from this organization was received in July of 2006 requesting $2,935 for two bore wells and hand pumps in each of two villages ($734/well).

DEEPAM TRUST   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in June of 2006 requesting $3,970 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($794/well).

PEOPLE’S EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS SERVICE TRUST (PEAS)   -   A solicited proposal from this organization was received in September of 2006 requesting $2,991 for one bore well and hand pump in each of four villages ($748/well).

SOCIETY FOR HUMAN EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT (SHED)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in June of 2006 requesting $2,188 for one bore well and hand pump in each of two villages ($1,094/well).

LIBERATION ORGANIZATION OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (LORD)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in June of 2006 requesting $2,837 for one bore well and hand pump in each of four villages ($710/well).

DRUC TRUST   -   A solicited proposal from this organization was received in August of 2006 requesting $3,850 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($770/well).

ANNAI JOY KIRUBA TRUST (AJK TRUST)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in July of 2006 requesting $4,200 for one bore well and hand pump in each of nine villages ($467/well).

GRAMA SEVA KENDRA (GSK)   -   A solicited proposal from this organization was received in November of 2006 requesting $2,740 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($548/well).

SOCIETY FOR RURAL HEALTH, EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT (SRHED)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in August of 2006 requesting $3,867 for one bore well and hand pump in each of ten villages ($387/well).

BHARIVALAYAH REHABILITATION CENTRE   -   A solicited proposal from this organization was received in December of 2006 requesting $2,965 for one bore well and hand pump in each of three villages ($988/well).

HUMAN DEVELOPMENT CENTRE   -   A solicited proposal from this organization was received in December of 2006 requesting $1,380 for one bore well and hand pump in each of three villages ($460/well).

UNIVERSAL SOCIAL SERVICE SOCIETY   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in November of 2006 requesting $4,898 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven villages ($700/well).

BHARATHIYA JEEVANDHARA ENVIRONMENT AND RENAISSANCE SOCIETY (BJDERS)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in February of 2007 requesting $2,800 for one bore well and hand pump in each of four villages ($700/well).

GUARD SOCIETY   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in January of 2007 requesting $1,965 for one bore well and hand pump in each of three villages ($655/well).

HELP FOR ECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICE (HEED)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in April of 2007 requesting $4,272 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven villages ($610/well).

SRI NANDANAR SWAMIGAL TRUST   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in June of 2007 requesting $3,140 for one bore well and hand pump in each of four villages ($785/well).

RURAL AND URBAN WOMEN’S WELFARE ORGANIZATION (RUWWO)   -   A solicited proposal from this organization was received in August of 2007 requesting $5,438 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven clusters ($777/well).

RURAL AWARENESS OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND IMPLEMENTATION (RASSI TRUST)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in June of 2007 requesting $4,270 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($854/well).

VILLAGE EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UNIT (VEEDU)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in August of 2007 requesting $4,895 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven villages ($699/well).

PEOPLE’S ORGANIZATION FOR WELFARE AND EDUCATION IN RURAL (POWER)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in September of 2007 requesting $4,715 for one bore well and hand pump in each of seven villages ($674/well).

MARAM AMUTHAM TRUST   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in August of 2007 requesting $4,331 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($866/well).

SOCIETY FOR HEALTH ENVIRONMENTAL AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (SHERDP)   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in September of 2007 requesting $3,195 for four bore wells and hand pumps in three villages ($799/well).

BAPUJI YOUTH ASSOCIATION   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in October of 2007 requesting $2,750 for one bore well and hand pump in each of five villages ($550/well).

READ PROJECT   -   An unsolicited proposal from this organization was received in May of 2007 requesting $4,463 for one bore well and hand pump in each of six villages ($744/well).
